Prepping Your Rental Property for an Upcoming Vacation
Hi, I’m Angie and I’m Ryan with Boulder Property Management and we are here today to tell you how to prepare your apartment before you leave for vacation. The first thing is to make sure that all of your doors and windows are properly locked and secure.
The other item you want to do is make sure that your thermostat is set to no less than 60 degrees. Why we do this is because over the break or the holiday, a lot of times we get weather that gets pretty darn cold. That’ll help the pipes from freezing under the cabinets, in the bathrooms, everything like that. So we ask you, please, please keep the thermostat at 60 degrees even when you’re not at home.
When you leave for vacation, please do not unplug your refrigerator. When you come back, you could come back to a really stinky mess. Another recommendation is don’t forget to call the US postal service to have your mail put on holds.
One of the most important things we find that you guys leave in your unit when you go for holiday is your keys. So please remember your keys when you do return to the unit.
Also, another great thing to remember is go ahead and turn those lights off. If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to call Boulder property management.
